Founded in 1958, this small southern start-up had one great goal… to create places people love. Fast forward to 2018 and the name ‘Countryside’ can be found at the heart of many successful communities, not just down south, but across the North West and the Midlands too!

As we celebrate our 60th year, we’re taking a look at the history of home building and why a Countryside home stands head and shoulders above the rest…

The property market is forever changing – from the fifties’ high-rise boom to today’s environmentally friendly households – each year sees not only increased demand, but also distinct changes in our everyday needs. The communities that we live in are being shaped by our evolving lifestyles, which is why our home designs are always adapting to the growing needs of our customers.

The 1980s saw the inception of our partnerships models for urban renewal and in 1996 our regional operation in the North West began. Since then we’ve transformed a number of the region’s most disused and disadvantage sites into thriving family communities. Most notably, our award winning NGV Liverpool development in Merseyside has successfully rejuvenated the once run-down estate, creating a hotspot for first time buyers. Whilst New Broughton Village in Greater Manchester played a key role in the transformation of Salford’s look, feel and reputation. Our continued success up north eventually led to the grand opening of our Wolverhampton office in 2017.

Of course, the growing demand for housing isn’t just limited to first time buyers and regeneration projects. Second, third and even fourth homes are critical to the homebuying cycle. This ‘second stepper’ market has seen the addition of ‘luxury’ neighbourhoods in some of the region’s most desirable areas, including Belgravia in Gateacre, Barrowcroft Green in Standish and Clarendon Place in Gee Cross.

With over half a decade of experience behind us, designers are continuously developing innovative and conventional home layouts to suit today’s lifestyles and environment. Countryside homes have not only withstood the test of time, they’re evolving and adapting to be exactly what our customers want. Homeowner feedback has remained at the core of our design process since we sold our very first home.
