We pride ourselves on the stunning attention to detail that we put into every single one of our showhomes and we like to keep our finger firmly on the pulse with the latest interior trends. We caught up with Sam Simmonds at Killer5, one of Countryside’s favourite interior design partners, to find out this season’s must-have trends and how you can achieve them in your own home.
“Spring 2020 is an exciting time in interior design as it’s all about colour, depth and luxury – just what I love! While neutrals still have their place, you’ll find that this is being offset by richer tones throughout the home. They may be bold but the great news is that these trends can be easily adapted and drawn-upon to suit your own tastes. Here are some of the four absolute must-haves for Spring and how we’ve been bringing these to life in our latest interior designs for Countryside.”
Glitz and glamour is as popular as ever this season. Expect to see dining rooms decked out in a formal fashion with crystal and metallic finishes to give a sense of decadence.
Creating a plush retreat is made possible thanks to feminine touches of warm mink hues and brasses, which give a nod to the classic art deco style. Toned with muted blues and this retro-fusion will be bang on trend.
Ahead of the Curve
Curved, rounded edges are still hot this season and are continuing through the home, with scalloped edges making their way into bathroom, kitchen and living room designs as well as the bedroom.
Look out for velvet sofas with rounded edges, and statement bedroom chairs that match cleanly with a headboard to bring a soft elegance to your personal sanctuary.
Rich, earthy tones
Muted blue tones and burnt oranges are making a big revival this season. Combine with multi-texture, natural fabrics to create an indulgent, grown-up look. To best create this look yourself, try incorporating these tones and prints in some way throughout the whole home, layering old and new furniture styles to establish a cohesive style and feel.
Animals for Adults
Animal influences are still hugely popular but forget childish wallpaper, this trend is about bold and classy prints added to a grown up space to add depth and luxury. Look out for earthy prints incorporating colourful birds and jungle animals that tone well with the rich colours we’re seeing come through in this season’s soft furnishings.
